Squirrel Facts In Georgia:
How long are those squirrels going to be in my attic? They have two different breeding times one in the late summer and another in late winter. Each time they have 2 to 3 young. They grow up quickly but the mother looks after them for 8 to 12 weeks depending on the type of squirrel. So if no one traps them out and seals up the entry points you are looking at 8 to 12 weeks if they are nesting in your attic. How many differnt nest do you have in the attic? It could be one female or multiple it just depends on the structure and the entry points. Should I wait until they are gone to seal up the entry points? This is up to you but as the baby squirrels grow up they will start to chew on things before they are fully grown and vacate.
Rat facts:
Rats don't really have a breeding season. They don't breed as much in the winter due to the temperature but if they are happy and cozy in some attic or crawl space they will breed year round. The babies are born in three weeks and the female can be ready to breed again as soon she has that liter. There can be 6 to 12 in each liter. A female rat can have 5 to 10 liters per year and can produce 25 to 100 baby rats a year. And as all of this is happening keep in mind that she is not the only female around as these babies grow up they will also breed and the infestation starts multiplying quickly. And like squirrels they will chew on things from electrical wires to different types of plumbing.
Mice facts:
Wild mice breed in the spring and fall but if they are indoor they can breed year round. They can have 4 to 10 litters a year. The babies are born after 23 days from breeding and can breed again in one or two days after having a liter. The baby mice are mature in 6 to 10 weeks. The mother weans the baby rats in 2 to 4 weeks. A female can produce over 40 babies a year. And like squirrels and rats they will also chew on things like electrical wires and different types of plumbing.

Flying squirrels and gray squirrels are common species found throughout GA, and they often seek shelter in attics and walls, causing damage and creating disturbances.
